Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 18 June 2026
Tempo is a small, careful place for adults trying to date with intention. These rules exist to keep it that way. They are part of the Terms of Service and apply to every part of the platform — profiles, messages, group rooms, board threads, voice notes, posts.
The short version
Be honest about who you are. Don't hurt people. Don't post anyone in a way they did not consent to. Don't bring minors into anything, ever. Don't try to use Tempo as a marketplace, a recruiting channel, or a megaphone. If two adults are flirting consensually in private, we leave them alone. If something crosses into harm, threat, exploitation, or a protected category — we don't.
1. Identity and honesty
- Photos must be of you. Don't upload images of other people, celebrities, illustrations, AI-generated faces, or photos of your friend who's more photogenic.
- Your stated age must be your real age. Lying about age is a ban-on-discovery offence.
- Don't pretend to be someone else, including someone famous.
- Don't use Tempo to catfish, social-engineer, or run any kind of identity scam.
2. Minors — zero tolerance
- Tempo is for adults (18+). No exceptions.
- Do not upload, request, or discuss sexual imagery of anyone under 18, real or simulated. We report suspected child sexual abuse material to the NCMEC and to Dutch law enforcement, and we cooperate fully with any investigation.
- Do not solicit, encourage, or facilitate contact between adults and minors.
3. Non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII)
- Do not upload intimate images of any person without their explicit, current consent — including images that were once shared consensually but are no longer.
- If you discover such an image on Tempo, report it via the Report button and email [email protected]. We act within 24 hours.
- If you want to proactively block an intimate image of yourself from being uploaded to Tempo, use /safety/submit-hash. We hash the image in memory and immediately discard it; only the fingerprint is kept. See our Privacy Policy §2.5.
4. Sexual content between adults
Tempo is a dating service. Conversations between matched adults can be flirtatious, sexual, or explicit when both parties want them to be. We do not police consensual sexting between matched adults in private messages.
Where we draw the line:
- Profile photos and public posts must be SFW. No nudity, no sex acts, no genitalia in the parts of Tempo anyone can see before matching.
- Unsolicited explicit content is harassment. Sending a sexual image to someone who has not asked for it — or who has asked you to stop — is a ban-on-report offence.
- Group rooms and board threads are not bedrooms. Keep group spaces appropriate to a mixed audience.
- "Both want it" must mean both. Coercion, pressure, or escalation after someone has said no are moderation triggers.
5. Harassment, threats, hate
- No harassment, stalking, doxxing, or threats — direct, implied, or "joking".
- No hateful speech targeted at people because of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or serious disease.
- No glorification of violence, terrorism, or extremist groups designated by the EU or UN.
- If a match makes you uncomfortable, use the Block button. The other person is not notified.
6. Commercial activity
- Tempo is not a marketplace. No solicitation of paid sex work, no escort advertising, no sugar-relationship recruiting.
- No MLMs, crypto promotions, OnlyFans funnels, or "follow my Instagram" outbound traffic plays.
- No spam, no bulk-messaging, no scripted outreach.
- No recruiting for jobs, religious organisations, political movements, or causes.
7. Platform integrity
- One account per person. Don't create duplicate accounts to evade a ban, manipulate matching, or impersonate yourself with different photos.
- Don't scrape, crawl, or harvest Tempo data — including photos, profile text, prompt answers, or message content.
- Don't use bots, automation, or third-party tools to interact with Tempo on your behalf.
- Don't attempt to bypass rate limits, safety checks, or verification gates.
- Don't probe the platform's security except under our vulnerability disclosure policy — and if you do find something, please tell us.
8. AI usage
Tempo includes an optional AI coach (per ADR-0011). The coach can suggest ways to phrase a message or surface a question to ask, but it does not author messages on your behalf and you should not paste long AI-generated text into a conversation and pretend it's yours. The person on the other end is talking to you, not your model.
Do not use AI to generate fake photos of yourself, of anyone else, or of personas you intend to operate on Tempo. Do not use AI to automate outreach.
9. What we do when you violate this policy
Depending on severity, we may:
- Remove the offending content.
- Warn you in-app or by email.
- Temporarily restrict features (matching, messaging, photo uploads).
- Suspend the account pending review.
- Permanently ban the account and, where appropriate, block the person from creating a new one.
- Report the conduct to law enforcement — automatically for child sexual abuse material; otherwise where required by law or where there is a credible threat of imminent harm.
All account-level enforcement is reviewed by a human moderator before it becomes final. You can appeal by emailing [email protected] within 30 days; appeals get a human response within 14 days, per EU Digital Services Act Article 20.
10. Reporting
Use the Report button on any profile, message, post, or room to flag something for review. For things that don't have a Report button or that need urgent attention:
- Safety / abuse / NCII — [email protected]
- Suspected child sexual abuse material — [email protected] (we will also report directly to authorities)
- Privacy / data complaints — [email protected]
- Copyright / DMCA — [email protected]
- Security issues — [email protected]
We publish a transparency report annually summarising reports, moderation actions, and government-data requests.
